Chat notifications and muting
Control the buzzing without missing the messages that matter.
- Chat messages and mentions are separate switches in your notification settings.
- A conversation you have open on screen will not notify you while you are reading it.
- Unread counts appear beside each conversation and on the chat icon.
- Each device can be turned off on its own, so your phone can buzz while your laptop stays quiet.
If you want the quietest setup that still works, keep mentions on and chat messages off.
